This is an excellent opportunity for financial services industry professionals to join a fastgrowing Malta-based team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the timely collection of information and data relating to the relevant area of work. You will be responsible for filing, accounts house-keeping and archiving of information related to the team.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accurate data entry into finance systems and maintenance of spreadsheets and other records, including manual and semi-automated processing of purchase and sales invoices and expense claims including corporate and personal credit cards;
  • iXBRL tagging of financial statements;
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and review of procedures used to maintain the financial records;
  • Supporting and assisting in the completion of monthly management reporting and analysis, and quarterly VAT returns;
  • Developing your understanding of financial reporting standards in practice, to complement your accounting studies;
  • Working towards an AAT qualification in accounting, as the first step towards full qualification as a chartered accountant;
  • Providing support and ad hoc reporting to clients;
  • Developing an understanding of the wholesale asset management industry (hedge funds and private equity) and applicable prudential regulation.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate an aptitude for numbers through good public exam results including Maths and/or accounting;
  • Possess an excellent work ethic and can-do attitude;
  • Be proficient in English with excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Be highly organised with good attention to detail.
