The Role

As a Business Analyst, you will be reporting to the Business Manager and will investigate, analyse, review and document our business functions and processes. Our Client is looking to improve the costs and sustainability of existing systems and quantify benefits of new systems.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Take responsibility for the provision of support services to projects. Provide guidance on project proposals;
  • Use and recommend project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking projects;
  • Support programme or project control boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings;
  • Review risks and quality for each project delivering key information to the Lead Project Management;
  • Input into the feasibility of projects. Creation of project plans. Identify, assess and manage project risks;
  • Setting of project milestones and deadlines, with the delivery of the milestones;
  • Define, document and carry out small projects or sub-projects actively participating in all phases;
  • Agree on project approach with stakeholders, prepare realistic plans tracking activities against project schedule;
  • Monitor costs, timescales and resources. Act where these deviate from agreed tolerances;
  • Ensure projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed and adjusted;
  • Set-up and ongoing maintenance of Project Control documents, including: Decision, risk and actions logs.

The Candidate

We’re looking for a good problem-solver who resolve issues quickly and effectively and has experience within an international organisation. The ability to meet targets and goals with accurate results will be key to the role.

  • Business Analysis or Testing Qualifications, e.g. ISEB or IIBA. Experience with an understanding of SQL;
  • Qualifications or experience relevant to the role or a relevant degree are required;
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Testing/Analytical skills on quantitative and qualitative information to achieve business objectives;
  • Experience of formal system analysis and design methodologies;
  • Produce effective solutions to complex problems. Identifying underlying trends and issues;
  • Previous experience within Life Assurance and or using Agile or Waterfall (V Model) is preferred;
  • Experience of working for an international organisation with offices in different jurisdictions;
  • 1- 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst; or 3 years’ experience in the Life Assurance industry as a Team Leader, Manager or Technical Specialist.
