The Role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Property Associate to work under the supervision of the Head of Property.  The primary focus of the role is to advise on commercial property transactions, as well as to support the team with residential transactions and other property services (e.g. property litigation).

Main Responsibilities

  • To take responsibility for the management and coordination of transactions from initial advice/instruction through to matter conclusion
  • To manage risk exposure in accordance with policies and procedures
  • To provide estimates, take instructions, undertake pre and post-transaction related tasks as may be required
  • To ensure all clients receive a high quality, timely and professional service to meet their needs
  • To delegate to and actively supervise the work of more junior staff and conveyancers as appropriate
  • Promote and strengthen the brand
  • Within the firm and team’s strategy, contribute as required to the development and implementation of business development plans, with the aim of attracting more work from existing clients and developing new client relationships
  • Support new ventures, identify cross-selling opportunities and seek ways to develop our services
  • Carry out non-chargeable activities to build the firm’s know-how and external reputation through seminars/writing of articles/presentations etc

The Candidate

  • 3 yrs+ PQE with a Jersey/UK/Commonwealth qualification
  • Experience of Jersey property transactions would be advantageous
  • Relevant experience on a broad range of commercial and residential property matters
  • Sound drafting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Good experience in delegating, supervising and motivating others
  • A client-focused approach
  • Organisational/time management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a workload effectively within deadlines
  • A responsible, disciplined and methodical approach and a keen eye for detail
