A leading IT company has an opening for a talented Front-End Software Developer to join their skilled and growing team of developers in Malta. This role entails being part of the Front-End Team and will take care of developing great products and interfaces using a suite of technologies, whilst keeping abreast with the latest web standards and technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain internal and external consumer-facing web interfaces;
  • Work closely with the UX experts to implement pixel-perfect websites using provided mockups (using mockup tools such as Zeplin);
  • Collaborate with Back-End developers to integrate new features successfully and any fixes that may be required;
  • Document own code implementations accordingly using appropriate software methodologies and diagrams;
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies that can help improve the business;
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure the highest level of code quality;
  • Provide estimates based on requirements;
  • Participate in code reviews to improve overall team’s code quality;
  • Participate in periodic team meetings;
  • Assist other team members with technical issues that may arise;
  • Follow the team’s procedures related to Source Control and Continuous integration;
  • Carrying out manual testing prior to task completion;
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Head of Front-End Department;
  • Report to Head of Front-End Department.

The Candidate

  • 3+ years of proven experience on the same or similar role;
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • HTML5, CSS3, SASS
    • JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery
    • AngularJS, Angular 7+
    • WebSockets, Service Workers
    • Grunt, WebPack
    • Bootstrap or similar layout frameworks
  • Experience in teamwork;
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken;
  • Experience with code repositories such as GIT;
  • Motivated to learn new technologies, understand complex business rules and good at problem-solving;
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently;
  • Excellent IT and development skills coupled with good organisational, and time management skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work efficiently, effectively and productively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail;
  • Can do attitude and able to work with different cultures and regulatory requirements;
  • Reliable and presentable team player with the ability to self-motivate and work under own initiative;
  • Excellent attention to details.
