As our Client’s business is expanding, they are looking for a qualified Head of Finance to manage and inspire the team at the offices in Barcelona. The right candidate will be responsible for all aspects of financial management whilst developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the Company.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of setting up all financial processes across the business, including the Finance IT system;
  • Responsibility for daily reporting, analysing targets, budgetary planning, and bookkeeping for Malta, Isle of Man and Spanish companies;
  • Ownership of establishing sound financial governance, including the schedule of reporting, meetings, KPIs, forecasts and budgets;
  • You will process payment of invoices, monitor and manage cash flows, as well as liaise with payroll provider for salary payments on a monthly basis;
  • Responsibility for preparing timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as working with auditors on delivering a set of audited accounts per business per year;
  • You will review budgets and financial reports to devise solutions or improvements;
  • Responsibility for profit and cost analyses and recommending cost-reducing solutions;
  • You will provide financial input, review and advice on our company strategy and business objectives, including evaluating and deciding on investments to advance the business and increase profits;
  • Ownership of ensuring compliance with financial laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures in all locations.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field;
  • Proven experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance or similar role;
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping;
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management;
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models;
  • Proficiency in accounting software;
  • Solid numeric, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, compliance and performance management principles;
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organisational and leadership skills;
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
