We are looking to recruit a dynamic Junior Accountant to join the accounting team of a leading gaming company in Malta.  The role will enable you to assist in the mission of supporting the whole group’s financial activities and truly make your mark. You will join a team of 4 and report directly to the Senior Accountant. The company prides itself in balancing work and fun like no one else! You will be taking part in many team events and an annual team trip away!

We are looking for someone who holds an Accounting degree or is part-qualified and has around 3 years’ combined experience in accounting and finance. Ideally, you will have had exposure to working in one of the large accounting firms.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Manage all accounting operations (hands-on duties relating to A/R, A/P, GL, bank reconciliations, inter-company movements reconciliations and revenue recognition);
  • Assist in payments to the Group’s suppliers;
  • Provide support in the month-end and year-end close process;
  • Assist in the preparation of the budget, forecasts and business plans;
  • Assist in statutory reporting;
  • Assist in developing business processes to maintain and strengthen the company’s internal controls;
  • Additional finance duties as necessary.

The Candidate

  • 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience (preferably gained within a large accounting firm);
  • Hold an Accounting degree or partially ACCA qualified;
  • Has knowledge of IFRS;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Excel is essential;
  • Team player;
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Work independently and under minimal supervision.
