A leading online gambling company in the gaming sector requires a skilled and competent Junior Compliance Officer to join their Legal & Compliance team in Malta.  The primary role is to act as a Junior Compliance Officer and perform all necessary duties to make sure the development and implementation of procedures and processes are in line with regulations as well as mitigating risk.

You are someone who is willing to learn and won’t easily back down when faced with challenges. Reporting to our Compliance Manager & MLRO, you will work to prevent gambling from being a source of crime, and ensure that it is conducted in an open and fair manner. You will work to protect children and vulnerable people from being harmed and exploited by gambling.

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of any changes in the regulatory environment;
  • Work with the technical team on required changes in the product to support new regulations and new guidelines and technical standards;
  • Assist with risk assessments and due diligence processes;
  • Implement and assist with KYC and KYB processes;
  • Review marketing material and provide relevant feedback on an ongoing basis;
  • Analyse and monitor transactions, reporting of any suspicious transactions;
  • Review and monitoring of players experiencing problems related to gambling;
  • Assist with audits;
  • Any other tasks that management might assign.

The Candidate

  • A degree in law;
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a legal and compliance, within a gaming company;
  • Fluency in English at mother tongue level – both written and spoken;
  • Experience with dealing with UKGC and MGA;
  • Ability to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Highly motivated, energetic, result-oriented person;
  • Great communication skills, responsible and good organisational skills;
  • Positive and can-do attitude.
