This is an excellent opportunity for financial services industry professionals to join our Client who is a leading global firm offering outsourced specialist services on risk, governance, and compliance. As an Onboarding Associate, you will be required to liaise with respective teams, and report directly to the Onboarding Manager.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn to undertake client due diligence, provide administrative support, and assist the GRC team with any due diligence requests. You will g first-hand experience of the hedge fund and private equity industry and learn about relevant financial services rules and requirements in the UK and Malta.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collect and review regulatory due diligence documents on new clients, individuals, corporates and funds;
  • Assisting in the development and enhancement of the company’s internal portal used for onboarding clients, and liaising with the developer to implement changes;
  • Assist in conducting AML due diligence checks on relevant individuals and entities and assessing AML risk;
  • Drafting proposals to the Board for the acceptance of new clients;
  • Reviewing the onboarding documents, organising them into hard copy folders on the company’s server;
  • Drafting FCA applications relating to Appointed Representatives and Approved Persons;
  • Liaising with lawyers, accountants, referees, and other third parties;
  • Maintaining a record of progress through the on-boarding process on the appropriate spreadsheets.

The Candidate

  • High school graduate/degree educated;
  • Excellent writing skills and be fluent in English;
  • Ideally, experienced in KYC/AML onboarding processes for financial service firms;
  • Experience of the UK regulatory environment and preferably in the processing of FCA Approved Person applications;
  • Keen interest in acquiring basic knowledge about the Regulatory Environment and expected to learn about relevant financial services rules and requirements in the UK (FCA) ;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular, Microsoft Word;
  • Possess excellent organisational and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Hardworking and able to work in a team, and lead a team;
  • Ability to work under pressure without losing an eye for detail.
