We are looking for a Release Manager to join a young tech company based in Malta. You will act as the main point of contact to manage problems for any production failures and breakdowns, as well as develop strategies to prevent outages and deliver solutions.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Identify the cause of incidents and reduce to a minimum the interruptions of the service;
  • Ensure that the applications for customers work to their maximum level in terms of stability, availability and cost efficiency;
  • Be responsible for incident management, carrying out documentation, report, and solution;
  • Work closely with QA to complete user-acceptance testing and document release notes;
  • Work with users to ensure product adoption and usage to realise the business case;
  • Execute new releases. Look at initial performance indications of new releases and suggest how to promote/expose the product moving forward;
  • Liaise with QA and clients to ensure all releases are planned and executed in good timing and quality;
  • Liaise with DevOps and Development team to improve the Continuous Deployment process of the company;
  • Run release and change meetings with other teams as well as clients;
  • Responsible for overseeing product recovery processes and escalate incidents when necessary.

The Candidate

  • Project management qualification or experience;
  • Experience with high distributed systems;
  • Ability to manage and prioritise high volumes of responsibilities autonomously;
  • Degree level in computer science, engineering or other technology related;
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, multiple development styles, and methodologies;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong relationship management skills – Ability to relate to business users and software developers;
  • Able to work under pressure, be part of a team and able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Superb attention to detail;
  • You are diligent, a good communicator and able to adhere to deadlines and team colleagues;
  • You are data-driven with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
