The Role

The role of the Risk Officer is to ensure that all types of risk are managed so that the Bank remains safe for its depositors and other stakeholders while producing sound returns for its shareholders over time, in line with the Bank’s and the Group’s business strategy, consistent with best practices and fully compliant with regulatory requirements. You will assist the Risk Manager in the drafting and updating or risk related policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Risk Manager in the monitoring and enforcing of controls related to credit, operational and Market Risk;
  • Responsible for the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to local management and Group Risk Management divisions as requested from time to time;
  • Is responsible for the review the nostro reconciliations prepared by the Finance Department and to inform in a timely manner the finance department of any unreconciled items;
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to regulators (COREP);
  • Assisting in the Risk manager in the preparation of the ICAAP and ILAAP reports.

The Candidate

  • Finance/Banking diploma or Degree or a Professional Qualification in Risk Management;
    Fluency in English;
    2-3 years’ work experience within the financial industry, specifically risk-related departments;
  • Good knowledge of the various types of risks is a must;
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel is a must;
  • Knowledge of local regulatory reporting framework CRR/CRDIV will be considered an asset;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to work within a team.
