An excellent opportunity for a responsible and self-motivated individual to join a well-established and successful Wealth Management firm as Technical Paraplanner based in its administrative and client servicing hub in Malta. The right candidate will be working with a very experienced team of financial advisers based in Switzerland.

This is an investment-biased role in a friendly and professional firm, and it is a
wonderful opportunity for an individual who has the ambition to develop into an experienced paraplanner or technician and enjoys complicated cases involving
HNW individuals as well as day-to-day client contact. It would be an advantage if the applicant has a strong understanding of the financial planning process including technical knowledge of investments, pensions, trusts & IHT planning.

It is important that this individual has already completed some CII (or equivalent)
qualifications and has the ambition to progress their knowledge and ability in the role.

Main Duties include:

  • Support in the development and maintenance of client relationships;
  • Assess client needs and support an appropriate advice solution;
  • Work with the Consultant to technically validate advice provided and proactively challenge where necessary;
  • Assist the Consultant with research and creation of client suitability reports;
  • Obtain illustrations, related documentation, and forms to support suitability reports;
  • Preparation of draft regular reviews;
  • Prepare client portfolio information and performance data in support of client meetings, visits, and presentations;
  • Liaise with product providers/intermediaries with regard to clients’ policy issues as required;
  • Provide research;
  • Attend client review calls with Consultants to continue to broaden knowledge;
  • Ensure client records and files are kept up to date;
  • Assist and support the development of Trainee.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in a paraplanning role gained within an IFA or equivalent environment focused on holistic financial planning for private clients encompassing pensions, investment and protection, UK tax and structured products;
  • Experienced in the preparation of suitability reports and client letters across a broad range of products and contract types;
  • Strong knowledge of research and provider systems;
  • High standard of competency in the client;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office;
  • Confident communicator;
  • Well developed written communication skills, able to construct logical, clear and concise documentation appropriate to a given audience;
  • Understand current regulations and how they apply to clients.
