Our Client is currently looking for a Head of Finance and Administration, who will oversee the day to day tasks of the Finance Department and support the HR department. Reporting directly to the CEO, as well as the Group Finance Directors.

You shall support the Finance and HR department by:
  • Guaranteeing accurate and efficient organised accounting records;
  • Producing timely and correct financial data according to the groups’ policies and procedures;
  • Assisting in HR processes and Office Administration.
Tasks and Specialities :
  • Manage the daily processing of financial and accountancy related data;
  • Reconciliation of accounts with external confirmations, whilst sustaining supporting documentation for all accounts;
  • Provide analyses, detailed statements and support with specific assignments, audits or reviews;
  • Supply clients with financial controlling data on a monthly basis. Also providing detailed financial data on a quarterly basis;
  • Provide insight into business performance against competitor and industry trends;
  • Mentor the accounting team, maintain an 'open door' and 'lead by example' mentality;
  • Guarantee timely and correct periodic;
  • Supervise contact with the local auditors, tax advisors and other consultants;
  • Manage contact with governmental institutions/administrations;
  • Communicate clear deadlines and ensure they are achieved;
  • Review and approve payments;
  • Cashflow monitoring and general cost-controlling;
  • Keep all accounts up-to-date;
  • Report periodically to the group in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Ensure that all legal requirements of the Maltese companies are always maintained;
  • Investigate any operational risk and establish effective resolutions and improvements;
  • Arrange and follow up the monthly closing process for the finance department;
  • Liaise with other departments and the Group to achieve the deadlines;
  • Assist projects with respect to software implementation;
  • Whistle-blower function in the broadest sense.
Profile and Experience :

The right candidate will possess a University Degree in Accountancy, Finance or ACCA, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role. You will also be in possession of a CPA warrant and experienced in financial audits. You are expected to have a wide range of finance knowledge related to administrative, logistic, sales and operational processes.

Other requirements include:
  • Fully-proficient in verbal and written Maltese and English;
  • Knowledge of MS Excel is a must, Microsoft Navision or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset;
  • Good command of general accounting principles;
  • In-depth knowledge of taxation rules & legislation, consolidation processes;
  • Ability to plan and organise with the aim of achieving deadlines;
  • Great attention to detail, solution-oriented with an analytical & critical mind;
  • Ability to understand and improve local and even groups’ policies and procedures;
  • Ability to work independently as well as participate in Management teams;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Willingness to travel.
