Reports to the Chief Operating Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer claims ensuring that both agreed turnaround targets and quality targets are met
• Take responsibility for Claims workload assigned
• Take responsibility for claim decision making respecting own individual level of authority
• Identify and communicate any requirements to our clients and sales partners in an effective manner
• Handle telephone calls regarding claims with service providers, sales partners solving problems swiftly and preventing unnecessary delays
• Continually review and action Claims on a daily basis
• Complete work in a timely and efficient manner
• Adhere to Claims procedures and processes, propose changes and solution to improve them
• Ensure accuracy in all written correspondence to clients and sales intermediaries
• Ensure the integrity of the claims process and system data
• Contribute to the team’s service delivery goals by achieving personal targets for effectiveness and quality
• Liaise with colleagues as well as with other internal departments and external parties
• Keep up-to-date on technical aspects of the job - products, procedures and compliance issues

Skill Requirements:

• Language Skills: Fluent in French and English - Written and conversation
• Good solid administration skills
• Knowledge of Insurance claim assessment and decision trees (asset)
• Knowledge/Interest in Medical investigations and common medical terms (asset)

Ideal candidate would have:

• Proven experience obtained in an Insurance role
• Good relationship building and communication skills (written and verbal)
o Real ability of how to communicate effectively with conviction and authority
o Real ability of how to communicate with empathy and understanding
o Ability to maintain relationships with wide range of people across an organization
• Personal Qualities – Enthusiasm, Resilience, Drive and commitment and ability to work in constantly changing and pressured environment
