Our client, a leading independent corporate and fiduciary service provider specialising in managing corporate and trust structures on behalf of multinational corporations through to high net worth individuals and their professional advisors, is looking for an experienced and detail-driven Corporate Administration / Compliance Officer to form part of the Malta team. This is an integral role within which the successful candidate will manage a range of corporate admin and compliance function-related tasks to support, oversee and report on the company’s overall corporate governance and ensure regulatory requirements are met in a timely and efficient matter.

This role will require you to act as the company’s Compliance Officer, after successfully being appointed by the MFSA.

The ideal candidate:

• Has at least 3 years’ experience in a corporate admin and compliance environment
• Preferably MFSA PQ approved
• Has in-depth knowledge of Malta law and regulations for the fiduciary and CSP sector
• Has experience working with high net worth individuals and financial structures across multiple jurisdictions
• Has an applied understanding of the requirements under GDPR and data protection principles
• Has experience with managing FATCA and CRS reporting
• Has a sound understanding of corporate governance and experience in developing a strong ethical and transparent culture within a regulated entity
• Delivers accurate reviews of new business processes with a considered, systematic and proactive approach
• Is comfortable working independently and liaising with key stakeholders across all levels and multiple jurisdictions
• Displays a genuine passion for all thing’s corporate admin and compliance, a commercial approach and the ability to demonstrate and enforce strong principles of corporate governance.

Responsibilities:

• Management of the corporate and compliance function for two licenced entities
• Maintaining the corporate admin software with all changes to corporate clients
• Maintaining all compliance registers as well as regular board and stakeholder reporting
• Maintain, review, update and distribution of all internal compliance and AML policies, procedures and governance frameworks – ensuring adherence with all applicable regulation and legislation
• With MD, act as a primary point of contact for all regulatory and legal bodies including the MFSA, MBR and FIAU
• Undertaking reviews and ongoing monitoring on current corporate clients and compliance notices issued by the authorities
• When required to do so, provide regulatory & risk (inc AML/TF) guidance to client companies
• Submit regulatory and statistical reports for the MFSA, MBR & FIAU when required
• Organise and provide ongoing internal training sessions for the Malta-based team
• Acting as the primary point of contact for local regulatory and risk (inc AML/TF) queries
• Undertake remediation and ad-hoc compliance projects as and when needed
