Malta office of international shipping and transport company seeks an accountant 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration/Finance/Computer Science and Math,
• 2+ years of experience in finance/accounting preferably in a multinational company, banking sector or proven experience as junior accountant,
• Good knowledge of financial accounting (IFRS and GAPSME), and in-depth understanding of financial reporting principles,
• Advanced knowledge in Excel, ability to process and analyse big amount of data,
• Comfortable handling and storing confidential financial information with knowledge of accounting software's,
• Excellent reporting and presentation skills,
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills,

The successful candidate will be responsible for 

• Monitoring and following up contracts, payments and loans, processing banking transactions in a timely manner,
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to corporate timelines,
• Participating in accounting month end activity (accounting checks, reconciliations, etc.)
• Providing internal reports and other financial support for head office, as well as for local management,
• Assisting with documentation and accounting systems, entering the data into relevant banking system,
• Assisting in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
