A global insurance company seeks a compliance officer to join their team

This insurance firm is a specialist company dedicated to helping property owners.

 Role Profile Reporting to the General Manager, the role of the Compliance Officer is to ensure that the company complies with existing regulations and internal policy and that all new regulatory developments and requirements are incorporated into the company’s policy and procedures.  You will manage regulatory submissions and will provide Compliance training, technical guidance and tailored feedback on regulatory issues relevant to the business.
  
You will monitor new regulatory developments and legislation that affect the business and operation of the company; facilitate the identification and implementation of procedures, controls and changes to ensure compliance requirements are adhered to; provide advice and support to the business on a range of issues including regulatory supervision, financial, operational and other regulatory implications of new business proposals and on MFSA regulations. 
  
You will understand and implement oversight and audit requirements with particular emphasis on agents.
  
The role offers variety, ownership and the opportunity to get involved in key projects and initiatives across the business. 
  
The role may involves some travel overseas.
  
  
About You
To be successful in this challenging role, you will have an insurance background, already be approved as Compliance Officer with the MFSA and have a good understanding of compliance regulations in Malta.  A relevant professional qualification is desirable.
  
As you will be liaising with all levels of staff you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a flair for relationship building. The ability to grasp complex issues and be effective and confident in communicating complex messages, both in writing and verbally, is essential for this role.
  
You will be capable of developing and applying your specialist knowledge to issues, possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills along with a high attention to detail.  You will be able to organise and prioritise a varied and busy workload often within tight deadlines and be clear and focussed on achieving targets.  Independent and able to work on your own initiative, you will also have the ability to function effectively in a team environment.
