Our client, an international iGaming company is looking to hire a Legal Counsel to join their growing Malta based team. The selected candidate will support the commercial, compliance, product, and senior teams, ensuring legal and regulatory alignment across the business. This role involves managing contracts, supporting licensing efforts, navigating regulations, and providing practical legal advice to drive growth and reduce risk.
Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate B2B commercial agreements (platform supply, licensing, technology services, etc.).
- Advise on legal and regulatory matters in existing and new markets.
- Support and manage regulatory licenses, liaising with regulators and external counsel.
- Ensure compliance with gaming, AML, KYC, and data protection (GDPR) laws.
- Develop internal policies, risk frameworks, and compliance procedures.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact.
- Provide pragmatic legal advice to cross-functional teams.
- Conduct internal legal training and awareness initiatives.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or related field.
- 3–5 years of legal experience, ideally in iGaming.
- Knowledge of B2B iGaming operations in regulated markets (e.g., Malta and another EU jurisdiction).
- Strong understanding of gambling legislation, licensing, and compliance.
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Working knowledge of GDPR, AML, and related regulations.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
- Excellent communication, with a pragmatic, business-focused approach.
- Able to work independently and in a fast-paced, international environment.
