The Maltese entity will act as an insurance agent, consolidating agreements with global automotive manufacturers who will distribute the product to their clients as an optional coverage at the time of vehicle financing.
The Role:
The group is seeking a Registered Insurance Manager to act as the Principal Officer of its Maltese operations. This is a regulated position. The successful candidate will serve as the regulatory and operational lead, ensuring compliance and overseeing agency operations, including claims management. This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and decision-makers across the group and the chance to play a key role in a major international expansion project.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Registered Insurance Manager (Principal Officer) with the MFSA.
- Lead and oversee agency operations, including claims handling.
- Ensure compliance with MFSA requirements and insurance legislation.
- Act as liaison with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders.
- Support the setup and ongoing governance of the insurance cell structure.
- Coordinate with global automotive manufacturers distributing the product.
- Provide guidance and oversight to support agents and operational teams.
- Proven experience in a senior insurance management role, ideally as a Registered Insurance Manager or Principal Officer in Malta or another EU jurisdiction.
- Strong understanding of MFSA regulations and the Maltese insurance framework.
- Background in motor/general insurance lines is an advantage.
- Track record in compliance, governance, and operational leadership.
- Experience in claims management and agency operations.
- Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders.
- Eligible and capable of obtaining MFSA approval as a Registered Individual.
