The Risk Officer Advisory role focuses on supporting internal stakeholders and external clients with risk management activities across regulated financial services environments. The position contributes to identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting risks, while supporting advisory engagements related to governance, compliance, and control frameworks.
The role sits within an advisory context rather than a purely operational risk function.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and update internal and client risk registers
- Conduct risk assessments across operational, regulatory, financial, and strategic risk areas
- Review risk data and ensure accuracy and relevance for reporting and decision making
- Monitor emerging risks, regulatory changes, and market developments
- Track implementation of mitigation actions and control measures
- Prepare risk reports and presentations for senior management, boards, and clients
- Support risk advisory engagements including risk mapping and control reviews
- Assist clients with the development and implementation of risk management frameworks
- Support internal and external audits related to risk management
- Assist with due diligence for new projects, partnerships, and initiatives
- Support business continuity and crisis management planning
- Deliver risk awareness and training sessions when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Minimum three years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or consulting
- Experience working in regulated financial services environments
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and clients
- Good understanding of regulatory and governance expectations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and risk reporting tools
