A well-established, regulated financial services organisation with a strong digital focus is looking to strengthen its engineering capability with a Software Developer in Test.

You will join a modern, agile development environment where quality is treated as an engineering discipline, not an afterthought. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with developers, influence test strategy, and build automation frameworks that ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of high-impact digital platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve automation testing frameworks
  • Develop internal tools that enhance and streamline QA and testing activities
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for on-demand and scheduled execution
  • Identify automation gaps and plan work to improve test coverage and effectiveness
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test suites to expand the existing test repository
  • Define and drive the automation roadmap, collaborating closely with developers and QA engineers
  • Monitor test executions, analyse results, and propose timely improvements
  • Design test plans and ensure component-level tests are correctly implemented and reviewed
  • Execute and contribute to performance testing initiatives when required
  • Implement reporting and integrations to translate test results into business-readable insights
  • Work closely with developers to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle
  • Support continuous improvement of product reliability, stability, and performance
What We’re Looking For
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in QA or similar roles
  • Industry experience with API testing tools such as Postman, JMeter, Bruno, or SoapUI
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git or SVN
  • Scripting experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Groovy
  • Ability to analyse service/API logs and perform root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills and an approachable, collaborative mindset
  • Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira and test management tools like TestRail or Xray
  • Hands-on experience working with databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience with REST/XML microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Experience working with CI/CD platforms such as GoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab
  • Working experience with OOP languages such as C# or Java
  • At least 3 years of experience in software development or automation roles
  • Knowledge of trading, financial instruments, or banking systems is considered a strong asset
