A fast-growing, global payments technology organisation is expanding its engineering function and is seeking a
Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines within a high-scale, transaction-driven environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, autonomous, and execution-focused. You will join an established DevOps setup supporting high-volume, multi-currency payment flows, with the opportunity to make an immediate impact. This position suits a DevOps professional who thrives in production-critical systems, automation, and cloud-native architecture.
The Role:As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and evolving the cloud and CI/CD ecosystem supporting a high-availability payments platform. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure fast and reliable deployments, resilient infrastructure, and strong observability across systems processing large volumes of transactions.
This is a true ownership role where your technical decisions will directly influence performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities: - Take ownership of DevOps pipelines and AWS infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable cloud systems
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines supporting frequent and reliable deployments
- Manage and deploy containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability using DataDog and AWS-native tools
- Collaborate closely with development teams to optimise delivery workflows
- Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Bash and Python
Technologies Used:Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS services including EC2, S3, Route53, Lambda, SQS, SNS, DMS, IAM, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, RDS, and DocumentDB
CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodePipeline
Containerisation & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
Monitoring & Observability: DataDog and AWS-native monitoring tools
What do you have to offer? - Minimum 4 years’ experience in a DevOps role with strong hands-on exposure to the technologies listed above
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver complex technical solutions
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, and automation best practices
- Solid scripting experience using Bash and Python
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
