Our client an investments company operating within the gaming industry, is looking for a finance executive/ accountant, to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of a portfolio of small, low-volume entities within a broader group and investment environment. While suited to someone at an early stage of their accounting career, the role offers full exposure to the accounting lifecycle, meaningful ownership, and insight into group structures and future investment activity. This will lead to a clear career path and growth to a more senior role within the group.


This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual currently working in an accounting firm or a corporate services provider, who is looking to broaden their experience in a growing industry in Cyprus and develop within an evolving group.

 

Duties and responsibilities:


- Preparation of monthly billings and customer invoicing
- Management and processing of expenses, including employee expense claims
- Performing bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation across
multiple entities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
- Assisting with group reporting and reconciliations where applicable
- Investigation and resolution of variances and reconciling items
- Supporting audit processes, including preparation of audit files and liaison with
auditors
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Supporting statutory reporting and compliance obligations
- Assisting with the accounting and reporting of investment activity as the group expands
- Supporting the setup and ongoing accounting of newly acquired or established entities
- Monitoring cash balances across entities
- Assisting with payment processing and treasury-related activities
- Working with cloud-based accounting systems, including Xero
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting as the group evolves
- Supporting finance projects linked to growth and investment activity

 
Experience and skills needed:

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 0-3 years' experience in an accounting, finance, or CSP / professional services role
- Strong grounding in core accounting principles
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple entities
- Confident Excel skills


Desirable
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems
- Progress toward a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or
equivalent)
- Experience preparing VAT returns and supporting audits
- Exposure to group structures, intercompany accounting, or investment vehicles
- Curious, adaptable, and keen to learn beyond a defined role
- Able to work independently while knowing when to escalate
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
