Our client, a well-established and respected organisation within Malta’s financial services sector, is expanding its technology team and is looking to recruit a mid-level Software Developer with strong Python and React expertise.

This is an opportunity to design and develop scalable web applications, build robust APIs, and integrate AI/ML services that enhance operational efficiency and user experience. You will work across the full stack, collaborating closely with UI/UX, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, high-performance systems within a structured yet forward-thinking environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using React (frontend) and Python (backend)
• Develop, document, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to ensure seamless system integration
• Work with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, optimising queries and data models for scalability and performance
• Integrate AI/ML models and services into web applications to enhance processes and user experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UI/UX, QA, DevOps) to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions
• Implement security best practices across application development and data handling
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, database, and integration issues
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for codebases, APIs, database schemas, and AI workflows
• Stay up to date with emerging web technologies, AI frameworks, and software engineering best practices

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in Python development using modern frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Strong hands-on experience with React and modern front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Solid expertise in SQL and relational database management; experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Redis) is considered an asset
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services
• Familiarity with AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is highly desirable
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes) will be considered an advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in an agile environment and manage multiple priorities

Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
Friday: 08:00 – 14:30
