As a Senior Accountant, you will play a central role in managing daily financial operations, ensuring full compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting that supports strategic business decisions. This is a hands-on position within a growing fintech team, where you will maintain financial integrity, handle complex reconciliations, and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities - Perform daily bookkeeping and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records using modern accounting software
- Record and classify financial transactions while ensuring the overall integrity of the accounting system
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns, VIES declarations, and other tax filings in full compliance with Cyprus regulations
- Process tax payments and coordinate closely with external tax consultants on all compliance-related matters
- Support external audits by preparing documentation, responding to auditor queries, and facilitating efficient completion of the audit process
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and month-end close procedures
- Prepare and analyse balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports; provide insightful analysis to management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, compliance) to gather necessary data and address accounting queries
- Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely and accurate financial information flow
What We're Looking For - Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role in a dynamic organisation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in bookkeeping principles and international accounting standards
- In-depth knowledge of Cyprus VAT regulations, VIES reporting, and local tax compliance requirements
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis functions)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP/accounting software is a strong advantage
- ACCA, ACA, or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Team player with effective communication and collaboration skills
