About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Mobile Development to lead their mobile engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines strong people management with deep coding expertise. You will drive the development and evolution of high-quality mobile applications (iOS and Android) that power the next generation of trading experiences.
The role requires a leader who can actively contribute to production code while guiding the team toward technical excellence.
 
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mobile development team — setting goals, prioritising work, allocating resources, tracking delivery, and supporting the professional growth of team members
• Ensure the entire team is aligned on objectives, priorities, and deliverables
• Maintain clear and transparent communication with internal stakeholders, product teams, and other departments
• Act as a hands-on Lead Developer for at least one mobile platform (iOS or Android)
• Participate in architecture design, implementation of critical features, and resolution of complex technical challenges
• Work directly with the production codebase, with a strong focus on C++ (core logic for both iOS and Android apps) — including code analysis, debugging, refactoring, bug fixing, and implementing new functionality
• Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce high code quality standards, and manage technical debt
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into clear technical tasks and execution plans
• Drive continuous improvement of mobile application architecture, performance, and overall technical direction

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience as a Mobile Development Team Lead or similar leadership role
• Strong C++ skills with proven hands-on experience working on production code (reading, analysing, debugging, modifying, and extending existing C++ codebase) — this is a mandatory requirement
• Hands-on development experience with either Objective-C (iOS) or Java (Android); strong proficiency in at least one is required
• Knowledge of Swift is a strong advantage; experience with Kotlin or other modern mobile languages is a plus
• Deep technical expertise in at least one mobile platform (iOS or Android)
• Solid understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Experience breaking down business requirements into actionable technical tasks
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Ability to make sound technical decisions and maintain high standards of code quality
