Accountant

This is a hands-on opportunity for an accountant who enjoys taking ownership of their work. You will manage your own portfolio of Maltese companies, covering the accounting cycle from day-to-day bookkeeping through to financial statements, tax and regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of Maltese companies, from day-to-day bookkeeping through to the preparation of final accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly closings and management accounts.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAPSME or IFRS and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, recapitulative statements and OSS declarations.
• Prepare corporate income tax returns and refund claims.
• Handle payroll, including FS3 and FS5 submissions.
• Liaise directly with clients, auditors, banks and relevant authorities.
• Build strong relationships with clients and provide ongoing accounting support.

About You

• Qualified Accountant, holding ACCA, a Bachelor or Master in Accountancy, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Around 2–3 years of relevant experience, ideally within an audit or advisory firm, Corporate Service Provider (CSP), or the finance function of an internationally active company.
• Solid knowledge of Maltese VAT and GAPSME reporting.
• Comfortable working with cloud-based accounting software.
• Confident user of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines and priorities independently.
• Excellent command of English.
