Senior Finance Accounting Manager

• Own bookkeeping, financial closes and Finnish statutory reporting
• Work directly with the CFO to build scalable accounting processes

I'm supporting a growing European fintech looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to take full ownership of accounting for its Finnish entity.
 
Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll handle everything from daily bookkeeping and reconciliations to financial closes, statutory reporting and tax filings. As Finland becomes the company's primary operating entity, you'll also
help build the processes and controls needed to support its growth.
 
This could suit someone who enjoys being close to the detail and wants the scope to shape how the finance function operates as the business grows.

What you'll be doing:

• Own daily bookkeeping, postings and reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end closes.
• Prepare statutory financial statements under Finnish GAAP (FAS).
• Manage VAT returns, local tax filings and statutory reporting.
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors, keeping records audit-ready.

What we're looking for:

• Typically 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in-house within fintech.
• Proven experience personally owning end-to-end accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish GAAP, local tax regulations and VAT requirements.
• Hands-on experience with systems such as Xero, Netvisor, SAP or similar.
• A practical approach, strong attention to detail and confidence working in an evolving business.
• Fluent English; Finnish is strongly preferred.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
