Our client operating in the shipping sector, the country's most secure and profitable industry, is moving their data landscape onto a single modern data platform on Microsoft Fabric. It brings financial and operational data from systems into one governed model. Demand for data across the business keeps rising, and they are growing the team to meet it.
You'll join a small, highly capable team working up to high standards: clear conventions, peer review, and a strong focus on getting things right. In a team this size, your work is visible and has a direct effect on how the business makes decisions.
As their Analytics Engineer, you will turn prepared data into models and reports people can rely on. You will take clean, source-aligned data and model it into business concepts such as vessels, voyages, ports, crew and accounts. You will build the Power BI semantic models on top of that model, and then the reports and dashboards for users.

Duties and responsibilities
  •  Design and build dimensional models (facts and dimensions) in the business-aligned layer of the platform, deciding grain, keys and where business logic should live.
  • Develop Power BI semantic models that are fast, well-structured and easy for business users to understand. Help consolidate and simplify our existing model landscape.
  • Deliver reports and Build Power BI reports designed around the decision being made, including row-level security, performance tuning and operational reporting.
  • Reconcile new models against existing reports and source systems, validate measures against agreed business figures, and document what you build.
  • Work closely with the Senior Data Analyst and the team. Together you'll turn requests from Finance, Operations, Crewing and other departments into clear, buildable requirements, and make sure users get value from what's delivered.
  •  Contribute to team conventions for modelling, DAX and report design, and support self-service by making certified data models that others can build on.
Experience and knowledge needed
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience building Power BI solutions in a professional setting
  • Solid dimensional modelling (star schema, fact grain, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions)
  • Strong SQL: joins, window functions, CTEs, and writing transformation logic that is readable and performant
  • Strong DAX and semantic model design, including relationships, time intelligence and model performance
  • Experience validating data and reconciling numbers, with attention to detail when figures don't match
  • Fluent English, spoken and written
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

What will set you apart
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, notebooks, Direct Lake) or similar modern platforms such as Databricks or Synapse
  • Git-based version control and deployment pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps)

What the client offers

  • Attractive salary between 50,000 - 60,000 euro gross per year
  • Annual includes 13th salary and on top end of financial year bonus stable
  • Provident fund
  • Working flexibility
  • Private medical insurance for employee and family
