Compliance Officer / MLRO | Malta
We are currently working with a well-established Corporate Services Provider in Malta looking to recruit a Compliance Officer / MLRO.
 
This is a senior opportunity to take ownership of the company's compliance and AML/CFT functions, manage a small team and report directly to the Board.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company's compliance and AML/CFT framework in line with MFSA, CSP and FIAU requirements.
- Act as MLRO, managing AML/CFT controls, internal reports and regulatory submissions.
- Lead and develop a small team of Compliance Administrators.
- Oversee client onboarding, CDD/EDD, KYC and ongoing monitoring.
- Maintain compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments and monitoring programmes.
- Prepare compliance reports for the Board and senior management.
- Act as the main point of contact for the MFSA, FIAU and other regulatory authorities.
- Identify regulatory risks, breaches and areas for improvement, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
 
About You:
- At least 5 years of experience in Compliance, AML/CFT or Regulatory Risk.
- Strong experience within the Maltese regulated sector.
- Excellent knowledge of Maltese and EU AML/CFT regulations, particularly CSP requirements, PMLFTR and FIAU Implementing Procedures.
- Practical experience with CDD/EDD, risk assessments, beneficial ownership and source of wealth/funds.
- Previous MFSA approval as a Compliance Officer and/or MLRO would be a strong advantage.
- CAMS, ICA or another relevant professional qualification would be beneficial.
